This was my second Wanderpainting kit (I chose the Zion National Park painting) and won't be the last! I have no regrets, quite the opposite. The whole experience was great, from start to finish! The kit arrived well packaged and had everything needed for completing the project. Wanderpainting emails kept me updated on my order which I appreciate.
Now to the actual painting - I am super happy 😊 with the outcome, it turned out really well!
What I did differently compared to my first Wander painting (which led to much better end results):
I applied clear Gesso to the canvas and let it dry for 24 hours. There are YouTube videos out there on how to do this. It's so worth it! It prevents these darn white spots on your canvas (once your paint dries) and it makes the canvas easier to paint (it adds some "tooth" to the canvas). You will only need a small amount of Gesso so it will last for quite a while for future paintings, well worth the purchase.
Prior to painting, I diluted and stirred the paint well until the consistency was nice and fluid (didn't do that with my first one and had chunky paint on the canvas, less than ideal). Due to the paint's thickness, I recommend adding either a couple of drops of water or a Flow Aid product and stir the paint with a toothpick until it's fluid so you can easily move the paint brush around. If you paint all cells of one color during one paint session, you might have to continue this process since the paint in the pod thickens up quickly. As for coverage, some of the lighter colors will require an additional coat of paint to cover the numbers but this appears to be common across the board with all PBN vendors. I usually apply 2 layers to the painted cells anyway since it looks more vibrant than just one layer.
Another thing I found out along the way is that it might be better to get the DIY framed version. I had my first painting framed and in order to get the frame I wanted, I "lost" a few millimeters all around the painting to avoid showing the "white" of the canvas. To bypass losing a few millimeters all around is either to get the framed version and continue the paint on the sides of the canvas or continue to paint on the white frame outside of the lines before bringing the painting to a frame shop. Lesson learned! But regardless, I still love how my first painting, Saguaro National Park, turned out, despite the chunky paint 😁.
Last, not least, I absolutely love Wanderpainting's selection of National Parks, National Monuments etc. The designs are unique and beautiful and can't be found elsewhere, I'm hooked!

These paint by numbers of the National Parks are not only beautiful when you finish, they help you to unwind, to clear your mind, to be calm. And the company is top drawer. Very helpful. I ordered the wrong thing once and the company fixed it for me without me having to repurchase the right things. I was impressed with that kind of customer care. Here’s Mesa Verde that I just finished!

So far I have completed the Death Valley National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, and Kings Canyon National Park paintings. All have been beautiful and fun to complete. The only thing is sometimes there’s not enough paint so I have to water it down a little bit to spread it out better and that has worked well for me so far. Now that I have completed three paintings sometimes I use paint from the older ones to complete as necessary. That is the only negative I have to say is the paint sometimes is not enough. But otherwise I am very happy with the product. All three I have ordered with frames and am mounting them as I am completing them. I will continue to purchase these paintings for the national parks I have visited. Happy customer!

I really enjoy these paint by number kits. To me they are very relaxing. Finished my 1st one, Mount Whitney, in about a month. It turned out so nice, I even framed it. Working on my 2nd one now, Saguaro National Park. It is going to be beautiful when completed.

I can’t say enough good things about the Mount Rainier paint by numbers kit from Wanderpainting! The image is absolutely breathtaking, and the details really capture the beauty of the mountain. The canvas was high quality with clearly marked numbers, and the paints were rich and smooth—perfect for blending and layering. Even as a beginner, I found the process super relaxing and fun. Watching the scene come to life with each section was incredibly rewarding. I’m so proud of the final result—it’s already framed and hanging on my wall. Highly recommend this kit to anyone who loves nature and wants a peaceful, creative project!

We had a family ( ages 12 to 72) de-stress weekend. Everyone had a different national park picture to paint. Great fun! The packages had everything we needed to paint beautiful pictures, and created an environment for fun conversation around the table. A great family activity!

Prior to getting a knee replacement, I decided to order the Adirondack Mountain scene paint by numbers. Creating a beautiful landscape of the mountains and reflection on a lake gave me hours of relaxation, as well as keeping me occupied. The paint went on smoothly and covered the canvas well. I had also ordered another kit from a different company and I am totally dissatisfied as I had to repaint each area several times to cover the numbers. Wander Painting is definitely the way to go.

Great product and fun to do. Take your mind off of things while you see your hard work come to life in a beautiful painting. Fash shipping and great communications.

Wow! I did not expect to enjoy this PBN process as much as I did. Relaxing and challenging at the same time - a great distraction during troubling times. Put on some great music or listen to an audiobook and the time just flies by. And now I have a gift for my son who loves this National Park. The next one is for me!

The company was so attentive and communicated so well about my product. When I received my paint-by-number item, it was in great shape and has provided a wonderful challenge!

Fun way to relax and great a piece of art. Colors look great and are consistent across paintings (I have done 4 national parks so far). Recommend getting at least one good quality brush for the small to medium sized areas.

I wanted something I could just sit down and do. No learning a fussy skill set or expensive to start. I tried coloring books but that was too many choices of color, placement etc. Wander Painting captured Mt Rainier beautifully. Quality paint and canvas. Thinking about tackling the vintage version of the mountain now.

I really love their paintings. I am normally not good at painting but with Wander Paintings I can paint really well out of the blue!! All of them have so much details!

My painting looks as I expected. I was wondering g if 24 colors was going to be enough to get the detail I wanted. It definately was. Paint cups came with labels making it easy to identify.what would I like to see different? More paint of some colors. For some colore you can still see the canvas thru the paint. Would also suggest the paper reference sheet have more contrast or zoom in for the detailed areas. It was very difficult to read even with a magnifying glass. Overall, it was a good purchase.

Newly retired I was looking for a creative outlet. Ordered a Yosemite paint by number. Was very “nervous” to start, but once I got painting it became a very relaxing activity. I am extremely pleased with the product and the process! I’m looking forward to painting another one soon!
