Work from top to bottom so your hand never rests on wet paint.
Paint one number at a time, starting with the darker colors.
Light colors may need a second coat to cover the printed lines. Let the first coat dry for a few minutes.
Use the finest brush for tiny areas and the edges between colors.
Close each paint pot right after use and rinse your brush between colors.

Does the canvas show any color?

Yes, a little. Every area is printed with a soft, faint tint of its color, so you can see at a glance where each shade goes and avoid mix-ups. The tint is light, so your paint covers it and the colors stay rich.

How long does it take to complete a paint by numbers kit?

It depends on the design. Every kit shows its difficulty level near the top of the page: Easy designs take about 3–4 hours, Intermediate about 4–6 hours and Detailed about 8–10 hours. Many people spread that over a relaxing weekend or a few evenings. The Large size has more area to fill, so it takes a little longer, and your own pace matters too.

Some areas are really small. Do I have to be perfect?

Not at all. Paint by numbers is about relaxing, not perfection. If a brushstroke crosses a line or you skip a tiny speck, nobody will notice once it's on the wall. Use the finest brush for the smallest spots, work in good light and paint your way.

What kind of paint is provided in the kits?

Our paint by numbers kits come with high-quality, water-based acrylic paints that are specially formulated for use on canvas. The paints are non-toxic and easy to clean up with water.

Can I purchase additional paint if I run out?

Each paint by numbers kit comes with sufficient paint to complete the entire painting. However, if you do run out or need to touch up any areas, you can use any standard acrylic paint from an art supply store that matches the color.

Will my canvas arrive creased?

No. Your canvas is rolled, never folded, so it arrives smooth and ready to paint. If it curls a little after unrolling, lay it flat under a couple of books for a few hours.

Are the canvases in your kits pre-stretched?

It depends on the option you choose. The Rolled canvas ships unstretched: paint it flat on a table and frame it your way when you're done. Choose the DIY wooden frame option to get 4 wooden stretcher bars, fasteners and tacks, so you can stretch the canvas yourself in about 5 minutes and hang it straight on the wall.

Where do you ship from, and how long does delivery take?
