I’ve tried many PBN’s and this one was the most enjoyable and easiest to do. The paint quality was excellent, I did not run out, most colors covered with one coat. Some needed more and touch ups etc, still plenty of paint left. I will buy again. I love it.
I need to get a kit to frame it, I wished I had bought the whole kit.
Just finished this painting of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Canvas was clear, reference was handy, paints were great. Would definitely order another project. This would be a good project for beginners.
It is fun & relaxing and the paint seems decent quality. However there are A TON of teeny slivers that are difficult to fill in with the brushes - I had to use the tiniest one for almost the whole painting. There aren’t any instructions and it can be hard to fill in the texture, so I recommend getting your brush a bit damp to encourage the paint to “flow.” If your paints don’t come with numbers on the top, you might want to write on them with a sharpie, as they’re easy to confuse. You don’t need a second set of paint.
Finally, my color #4 is definitely not correct. From the example photo, it should be a light green but I got a tan that’s only the tiniest bit slightly darker than #3. So my finished product doesn’t quite look right, even if it is cool.
I decided to try painting the National Parks that I have visited. I picked a couple and put them on my Christmas list. I just finished the 1st one (Smokey Mountains) and absolutely loved it. I came very close to running out of black paint, but I added a few drops of water to the container and was able to stretch it out. I also discovered that adding a tiny amount of water makes it a little easier to paint the letters as the paint "flows" a little easier. I had been certain that I was going to ruin the whole thing when trying to get the letters right, but I think it turned out ok. I'll for sure be ordering more National Park kits!
